People select burial based on a number of factors including the desire to keep with tradition or, in some cases, for religious or cultural reasons. Entombment

In Australia people have the option to be entombed buried, which means the body is interred in an aboveground monument such as a vault, crypt or mausoleum located in the monumental sections of a cemetery. Although, not all cemeteries encompass monumental sections. Embalming the body of the deceased is a requirement for all above ground entombments.

Church or Other Venue Funeral Service Followed by a Graveside Committal Service

funeral service held in the church or venue of your choice may be followed by a graveside committal service. Generally the family and friends will follow in cortege with their vehicle lights on, from the funeral service venue to the place of burial. A minimum of four pallbearers are required to carry the coffin from the hearse to the grave. The funeral officiate will lead the committal service at the graveside.

Cemetery or Graveside Funeral Service

Many people choose to hold the funeral service at the cemetery. Some cemeteries offer the use of a chapel located within the cemetery boundary, while other cemeteries contain large gazebos in which to gather for a funeral service. Most cemeteries provide portable shelter and limited seating for the funeral service held at the graveside.
